Cycling 200km from Montreal to Ottawa – a spectacular ride! (except for Rigaud, QC…)

  1. Interesting video.
Had you done your research ahead you would have chosen a different route.
The best route is Montreal to Deux Montage (bike or take the commuter train). Continue to Oka hwy 344 with side paved bike shoulder. Continue to St Andre then hwy 148 to Masson Anger and take the ferry to Cumberland. Continue 6 km on hwy 174 to Pétri Island and take the bike path along the Ottawa river to Green’s creek. Stay on parkway to Sussex.
Coming back, take the train. (Bike path goes to train station)
Note avoid going through Gatineau at all cost.
This is a much more pleasant ride paved all the way and lots of places to stop for refreshments.
